Case Study For A Pneumatic Conveying Application In Food Industry

Client Requirement :

Handling of puffcorn food material (snacks) with proper Hygiene and handling to a distance without the use of Belt conveyors etc.

Challenges :

• The material to be handled is very light and has uneven lengths and size.
• We had to take utmost care of handling the material without breakages.
• It was required to design the system with minimum power requirement.

Stratgem Proposal :

Stratgem proposed a system with Positive blower based Pneumatic conveying system. Entire system was designed with SS 304 material of construction. The system was designed for a very slow mode conveying and the layout was prepared in such a way that minimum number of bends are required. To ensure the system performance is delivered as desired, we conducted actual trials of conveying at our factory and demonstrated the performance parameters.

System was commissioned and handed over to customer for his regular production with extreme satisfaction. One of the major highlight of the system is that there is no human contact in entire conveying process. This also ensured that there is no exposure of the product and maintained the required hygiene.
